There is one thing that I always feel when watching the Resident Evil sequel. Every time the film begins with a flashback narrative that outlines the earlier films, I am always reminded of how little story evolved since the first film. And now, the prologue Resident Evil: The Final Chapter convinced me that the story is actually not move anywhere for 5 films, and at least an inch of new shift after this film.
You do not need to watch all his films, especially films with practically already explained the whole basis of the story of his franchise in just about 5 minutes. To be honest, I had already forgotten the previous film. As far as I remember, all the film begins with Alice (Milla Jovovich) are realized are in a dangerous situation ... blablabla ... he acted ... blablabla ... the film concludes with a hopeful ending that mankind may be saved and zombie regime would be over. Do not be fooled by the word "final chapter" in the title would imply the end of the adventure. The film is the same as the previous films.
The above statement can also be applied for director Paul W.S. Anderson still maintaining the same cinematic aesthetics. There are plenty of stylish action scenes, the noise for the purpose of shocking the audience, as well as editing and cut the headache. If you can not stand with hyperactivity pictures and sound in a movie before, keep in mind that Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is more aggressive.
What happened to Ada, Leon and his friends Alice of others who stood with him at the top of a castle at the end of Resident Evil: Retribution? I have no idea. Continuity is one of the things that do not need to be taken dizzy in this series. The movie opens with Alice fighting against the giant zombie-like creatures Petrodactyl that sordid as it sounds. I'm sure the crew production system has a design that is clear, but I can only assume the form of beings of this (and other creatures) are never visible on screen for camera movement is amazingly fast.
As we already know, this is causing the emergence of zombie T-Virus which is then used by the Umbrella Corporation scientist, Alexander Isaacs (Ian Glen). Alice got a hint of AI Red Queen that Umbrella had a potent antidote to the virus so could destroy all zombies enough to pass it in the air. If this little object is their biggest weakness, why Umbrella save it instead destroy it?
Alice must return to The Hive in Raccoon City. This film utilizes gimmick chase with time as the first film. If passed, it is no longer useful antivirus. Much longer time limit, not 60 minutes instead of 48 hours, but Alice spent mostly for fainting. Meanwhile, Isaacs and Wesker (Shawn Roberts) devised strategies to hunt him down.
I only had time to play a game title of his course, so could not confirm further. But I've heard the protests of a gamer friend who told me that the film Resident Evil does not correspond to his game. Pfft. Though the film uses a narrative mechanism similar to a video game. Alice got a mission, meet with friends and enemies along the way, then beat, stabbing or shooting at anyone (or anything) that hinders. Some of the supporting characters of which there is Ali Larter, Ruby Rose and Lee Joon-gi, but you most likely will not ngeh because the film itself also did not bother with them.
Relatively more action scenes, but the quantity is not always proportional to the quality. Nothing memorable sequences here, except that supercampy sort of mass burning of zombies. Paul W.S. Anderson did not seem to believe the film could bring tensions that must edit each action sequences as if he was crazy, with cut and angle as much as possible. Everything is meaningless, difficult to understand and worked without imagination and (possibly) logic. He just slammed the picture with one another as quickly as possible, creating a viewing experience that is not comfortable for me.
This film has dialogue, though we could watch it without any dialogue at all, except for the twist at the end. Speaking of twist, this section will stab you, not only because its disclosure tremendous shock but also how he betrayed 5 previous films. Yeah, deal with it. You've just wasted two hours you, and this film recalls that in the past you also have wasted time for 5 x 2 hour movie / film
