Sanam Teri Kasam is customized for being subjected to, and fizzling the Bechdel test; a romantic tale that would be any illuminated lady's most noticeably bad dream. Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru turn a present day, urban fable, though a desolate, hopeless one, which, for the sake of being a lady driven film, has a standout amongst the most weak, defenseless champions found in late Hindi silver screen, one who is let around individuals around her, her own predetermination and herself. She is the kind who can't advance even a stage in existence without a man for a bolster. The backward messages come unequivocally encoded in the story: most men won't take a gander at you in the event that you are not expectedly delightful, the man who genuinely cherishes you will comprehend your excellence in spite of those thick glasses however you will need to in the long run take them off for him also; and looking pretty is not about liking yourself but rather to attract a man and getting hitched to him.

So you have the unremarkable person Saraswati "Saru" Parthasarathy (Mawra), who can't trap a decent match for herself. Her advantageously moderate South Indian family doesn't help much either. The mother sobs into her pallu and remains calm, the tyrant father, who might normally say thum for tum (you), demands an IIM-IIT-Brahmin kid for her at the same time, inquisitively, doesn't appear as stern with regards to the more youthful girl Kaveri and her sweetheart. In the interim, the spoilt rascal Kaveri yells and shouts at Saru on the grounds that her sweetheart needs marriage and she can't till the senior sister gets married. "Why wouldn't you be able to get shrewd and discover a man?" she thunders, while all you need to do is give her one tight slap. And afterward an Ideal man Inder (Harshvardhan) goes to the guide of Saru. There is a sentiment which blossoms, accidentally to her, book by book (with notes and dried blooms between pages) — from J.D. Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye to Erich Segal's Romantic tale. He sulks, glares and flares his nostrils to tell us that he is much enamored with her. That is the point at which he is not battling his own particular inward evil presences by drinking and dozing unstably on the building porch.

Presently it's the turn of Saru's dad go out of control, proclaim her dead for the family and even play out the last ceremonies. On the off chance that this is the sort of crazy, hyper family you are saddled with then it's ideal to not have one. However, sappy Saru will keep on loving them. She will advise her mother not to meet her colloquialism "Woh toot jaayenge" (father will be broken).

She is not alone. Each and every lady in the film is absolutely idle . Men drive the ladies' lives. Indeed, even the change of Saru is built by a man on being provoked by a man. What's more, what a simple change it is! Take the glasses off and those evil fitting khadi suits as well and voila! You sought after some impulsive notion here, some flight of creative energy, however nothing gives.

So all that Mawra as Saru needs to do is sob, and after that sob some more and continue wiping off the tears from her eyes and cheeks with her hands. Additionally, it is fascinating to watch the film again to check whether there's any arrangement or scene where she has not wound up sobbing.

There is a considerable measure of crying, particularly towards the end, went with the sad hints of shehnai, generally right around a lost instrument in film nowadays. Both the saint and champion have the most unreasonable fathers, living on extremes, strangely cussed toward the begin and amazingly passionate in the peak. Why there's even a sobbing specialist and a crying cop here! Run with a boxful of tissues on the off chance that you cry effortlessly at the motion pictures. In the event that you are as cutthroat as I am you'll be left scratching your head and perpetually taking a gander at the watch seeking after things to wrap up quick. Tsk-tsk, they don't.
